St. John’s Catholic Church, Cooks Valley, will hold their annual Fall Festival and Auction on Sunday, September 7, 2025, beginning with a Mass at 9:30 a.m. The church is located at 4540 State Hwy 40, Bloomer, WI 54724. A dine-in cafeteria-style charcoal chicken dinner will be served from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Carry-outs available at the church rectory front porch. Sacred Heart Parish in Cassel will host a Charcoal Chicken Dinner on September 14 from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm.

Smoked pork chop dinner, pie auction, kids games, bingo, basket raffle and more with raffle drawing at 2:30 p.m.

Join the people of the Diocese of La Crosse as Most Reverend Gerard W. Battersby, Bishop of the Diocese of La Crosse, celebrates the annual Rural Life Mass at the Jim and Nodji Van Wychen Family Farm in Warrens. Bishop Battersby will also present awards and recognize parishioners and families before blessing the farm animals, crops, and machinery.

A free-will offering meal will follow the Mass and recognition.

Most Reverend Gerard Battersby, Bishop of the Diocese of La Crosse, will celebrate a Mass of Hope and Healing on Tuesday, September 23, 2025 at 6:30 p.m. at the Cathedral of St. Joseph the Workman, 530 Main St, La Crosse. This Mass will be offered for anyone grieving the loss of children through miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy, abortion, stillbirth, accident or infant death.  A book of remembrance will be available before and after Mass for those who would like to inscribe the name(s) of their child(ren).  Votive candles will be given to families before Mass in remembrance of each child.  Candles will be lit and carried forward by family members, just before the entrance procession, and placed before the image of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.  After Mass, refreshments will be served along with a display of resources and books in the Gathering Space.  Volunteers with name tags will be present to offer assistance, support, and comfort.
