Sacred Heart Parish in Cassel will be hosting a charcoal chicken dinner on Sunday, Sept. 20, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The dinner will include charcoal chicken, mashed potatoes, gravy, stuffing, corn, a dinner roll, dessert, and a choice of beverage (coffee, milk, or water).
In addition to the dinner, there will be a beverage tent from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., live music from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., bingo from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m., as well as basket raffles and a 50/50 raffle, with drawings taking place at 3 p.m.
For the kids, there will be ice cream cones, a bouncy house, and face painting.
Come and join us for a day of fun festivities and delicious food!
All proceeds will go toward church enhancements.

45th Annual Rural Life Day Celebration - Bangor

Rural Life Day is a wonderful event that brings together several hundred members of the diocese to honor rural life in our communities.
The event will be hosted by two families: the John and Donna Hansen family and the Justin and Louisa Peterson family.
Mass will begin at 10 a.m., followed by special awards to recognize those who support rural life and family farms that have cultivated the earth for over 100 years. The day will also feature the blessing of crops, animals and machinery at Creamery Creek Farms.
We will conclude this celebration with a delicious lunch and there will be a freewill offering to benefit Project Milk.

This seven-mile ride will take you into the historic Chippewa Bottoms and back.
During the ride, there will be presentations on the train's history, the Department of Natural Resources (DNR), and the Native American tribes in the area, including information on artifacts.
The cost is $40 per person, and there are only 35 seats remaining.

Drazen Dupor is an artist and iconographer, specializing in Byzantine iconography.
Born in Croatia, Drazen studied the art of icon painting in Thessalonica, Greece, at the K.N. Georgiadis School of Art. Since moving to the U.S. in 2003, Drazen has taught icon painting lessons in his studio, and he frequently presents workshops for retreats,
churches, and community groups.He accepts commissions for small and large icons, and he has painted large murals
in numerous churches in the U.S. Drazen and his wife, Nives, live in Middleton, Wis.$270 per student, payable at the door.
