It's that time of year again! St. Peter Parish is holding its Annual Sauerkraut Supper on Wednesday, October 14, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

The menu will feature church-made sauerkraut and pork, Polish sausage, mashed potatoes with gravy, glazed carrots and homemade pie.

The cost for the meal is $16 per person. You can enjoy the meal at the church or choose a carry-out option.

Additionally, raw sauerkraut (2.5 lbs) will be available for purchase at $5.

There will be a beverage tent with entertainment, along with a bake sale and raffles. We hope to see you there!

About Drazen Dupor

Drazen Dupor is an artist and iconographer, specializing in Byzantine iconography.
Born in Croatia, Drazen studied the art of icon painting in Thessalonica, Greece, at the K.N. Georgiadis School of Art. Since moving to the U.S. in 2003, Drazen has taught icon painting lessons in his studio, and he frequently presents workshops for retreats,
churches, and community groups.

He accepts commissions for small and large icons, and he has painted large murals
in numerous churches in the U.S. Drazen and his wife, Nives, live in Middleton, Wis.

$270 per student, payable at the door.

TheDomestic Church circles of Central Wisconsin are hosting a one day marriageevent, a "Given Retreat", at St. Joe's in Stevens Point.  Thisis an opportunity for couples to be exposed to marriage enrichment in a retreatlike format, hopefully whetting their appetite for seeking out a more in-depthexperience of a Domestic Church Evangelization Retreat.    

 "Goddestined us to experience communion with our spouse as an expression of ourcommunion with him. This is what we vowed when we married and what it means tobe devoted." Join us Thursday, Oct. 22, at 6 p.m. at the Blessed Sacrament Parish Center for a special evening with Deacon Pat Brueggen, who will share a presentation on Marian Apparitions. A relic of St. Carlo Acutis will also be available for veneration, offering us a beautiful opportunity to draw closer to the saints and deepen our faith.

The presentation and veneration will conclude around 8 p.m. The relic display will remain available through the weekend and may be viewed after both Masses.

This year, we will be focusing on small groups and mentoring. Time and again, we witness how effective high school students are with engaging and encouraging their younger peers in the Catholic faith.

The day will include:

1. A look at OCIA in light of the pastoral plan, "Rebuild My Church," and with the ever-increasing numbers of adults seeking faith in the Church.

2. Mass with Bishop Battersby.

3. Answers to frequently asked questions surrounding adult initiation.

$. Ideas and resources for teaching the faith, celebrating the rites and forming parishes to accompany and welcome those seeking God.

St. John the Baptist Parish, Cooks Valley, is hosting its Annual Pork Steak Dinner on Oct. 25, from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., following Mass.

The meal will feature pork steak, sauerkraut and your choice of dumplings or mashed potatoes, all served with various trimmings.

Parishioners and guests can enjoy the dinner in a cafeteria-style setting or opt for drive-up carry-out services, available in the rectory garage.

The cost is $13 for adults, $7 for children ages 6 to 12, and free for preschoolers. We hope to see you there!

The Granny Basketball Exhibition will showcase the La Crosse Does vs. the Diocesan Padres. Doors open at 6 p.m., and a freewill donation can be made at the door. All proceeds will benefit Casa Hogar Juan Pablo II.

The Knights of Columbus are hosting the annual Hunters Stag on Thursday, Nov. 5, from 4:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.

The meal will include Hunter's stew, coleslaw, homemade bread, and free refreshments from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Free sweepstakes entry with purchase of a meal ticket.

Sweepstake prizes include:
1st place - crossbow
2nd place - 22 long rifle
3rd place - ladder tree stand.

Other main prize drawings are $100, $75 and $50 cash.
